[Thanh Mai]

無 盡 意 菩 薩 白 佛 言，
Vô Tận Ý Bồ Tát bạch Phật ngôn，
The Bodhisattva Infinite Resolve said to the Buddha,

世 尊， 我 今 當 供 養 觀 世 音 菩 薩。
Thế Tôn，ngã kim đương cúng dường Quán Thế Âm Bồ Tát。
“World Honored One, I will now make an offering to the Bodhisattva Guanshiyin.”

即 解 頸 眾 寶 珠 瓔 珞， 價 值 百 千 兩 金， 而 以 與 之 作 是 言，
Tức giải cảnh chúng bảo châu anh lạc，giá trị bách thiên lượng kim，nhi dĩ dữ chi tác thị ngôn，
And so saying, he removed his rosary of pearls, worth hundreds of thousands of taels of gold and presented it to the Bodhisattva with these words:

仁 者， 受 此 法 施， 珍 寶 瓔 珞。
Nhân giả，thọ thử Pháp thí，trân bảo anh lạc。
“O Humane One, please accept my offering of Dharma, this rosary of precious pearls.”

時 觀 世 音 菩 薩 不 肯 受 之，
Thời Quán Thế Âm Bồ Tát bất khẳng thọ chi，
But Guanshiyin Bodhisattva would not accept the pearls.

[Thanh Mai]

無 盡 意 復 白 觀 世 音 菩 薩 言，
Vô Tận Ý phục bạch Quán Thế Âm Bồ Tát ngôn，
Infinite Resolve once more entreated Guanshiyin,

仁 者， 愍 我 等 故， 受 此 瓔 珞。
Nhân giả，mẫn ngã đẳng cố, thọ thử anh lạc。
“O Humane One, out of pity for us, please receive the rosary.”

[Thanh Mai]

[爾 時 佛 告 觀 世 音 菩 薩，
Nhĩ thời Phật cáo Quán Thế Âm Bồ Tát，
Then the Buddha said to Guanshiyin,

當 愍 此 無 盡 意 菩 薩， 及 四 眾，
Đương mẫn thử Vô Tận Ý Bồ Tát，cập tứ chúng，
“Out of compassion for Infinite Resolve and the Four Assemblies,

天， 龍， 夜 叉， 乾 闥 婆， 阿 修 羅， 迦 樓 羅， 緊 那 羅，
Thiên，long，dạ xoa，càn thát bà， a tu la，ca lâu la，khẩn na la，
For the gods, dragons, yaksas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras,

摩 睺 羅 伽， 人， 非 人 等 故， 受 是 瓔 珞。
Ma hầu la già，nhân, phi nhân đẳng cố，thọ thị anh lạc。
Mahoragas, humans, and nonhuman beings, and the rest, accept this rosary.”

[Thanh Mai]

即 時 觀 世 音 菩 薩 愍 諸 四 眾，
Tức thời Quán Thế Âm Bồ Tát mẫn chư tứ chúng，
Then Guanshiyin Bodhisattva, out of pity for the Four Assemblies,

及 於 天， 龍， 人 非 人 等， 受 其 瓔 珞， 分 作 二 分，
Cập ư thiên，long，nhân phi nhân đẳng，thọ kỳ anh lạc，phân tác nhị phần，
For the gods, dragons, humans, non humans, and the rest, accepted the rosary and divided it into two parts.

一 分 奉 釋 迦 牟 尼 佛， 一 分 奉 多 寶 佛 塔。
Nhất phần phụng Thích Ca Mâu Ni Phật，nhất phần phụng Đa Bảo Phật tháp。
One strand he offered to Sakyamuni Buddha, the other to the stupa of the Buddha Many Jewels.

無 盡 意， 觀 世 音 菩 薩 有 如 是 自 在 神 力， 遊 於 娑 婆 世 界。
Vô Tận Ý，Quán Thế Âm Bồ Tát hữu như thị tự tại thần lực，du ư Ta Bà thế giới。
Infinite Resolve! With such sovereign spiritual powers does the Bodhisattva Guanshiyin traverse the Saha World.

爾 時 無 盡 意 菩 薩 以 偈 問 曰。
Nhĩ thời Vô Tận Ý Bồ Tát dĩ kệ vấn viết。
Then the Bodhisattva Infinite Resolve put his questions into verses and asked them once again:

世 尊 妙 相 具，
Thế Tôn diệu tướng cụ，
“World Honored One, Complete with Wondrous Hallmarks,

我 今 重 問 彼，
Ngã kim trùng vấn bỉ，
Several questions I would ask again.

佛 子 何 因 緣，
Phật tử hà nhân duyên，
How did this disciple of the Buddha,

名 為 觀 世 音。
Danh vi Quán Thế Âm。
Earn the name Guanshiyin?”

具 足 妙 相 尊，
Cụ túc diệu tướng tôn，
Then the World Honored One, his every feature full,

偈 答 無 盡 意，
Kệ đáp Vô Tận Ý，
Answered in melodious verse to Infinite Resolve:

汝 聽 觀 音 行，
Nhữ thính Quán Âm hạnh，
“Come listen and I’ll tell you Guanyin’s story

善 應 諸 方 所。
Thiện ứng chư phương sở。
How deftly he responds to every side;

弘 誓 深 如 海，
Hoằng thệ thâm như hải，
Spanning ages past the ken of numbers,

歷 劫 不 思 議，
Lịch kiếp bất tư nghì，
With oceanic vows both deep and wide.

侍 多 千 億 佛，
Thị đa thiên ức Phật，
Serving ancient Buddhas, several billions,

發 大 清 淨 願。
Phát đại thanh tịnh nguyện。
His pure and lofty vows in brief I’ll tell.
