若 惡 獸 圍 繞，
Nhược ác thú vi nhiễu，
Circled round and trapped by savage creatures,
利 牙 爪 可 怖，
Lợi nha trảo khả bố，
With razor fangs and claws that terrify,
念 彼 觀 音 力，
Niệm bỉ Quán Âm lực，
Evoke the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva,
疾 走 無 邊 方。
Tật tẩu vô biên phương。
And they will quickly flee to every side.
蚖 蛇 及 蝮 蠍，
Ngoan xà cập phúc yết，
Facing vipers, scorpions, and pythons,
氣 毒 煙 火 然，
Khí độc yên hỏa nhiên，
Belching poisons, fumes, and scorching flames,
念 彼 觀 音 力，
Niệm bỉ Quán Âm lực，
Evoke the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva,
尋 聲 自 迴 去。
Tầm thanh tự hồi khứ。
They’ll shrink and turn away before his name.
雲 雷 鼓 掣 電，
Vân lôi cổ xiết điện，
When thunder-clouds explode and lightning crackles,
降 雹 澍 大 雨，
Giáng bạc chú đại vũ，
Dumping sleet, and hail, and heavy rains,
念 彼 觀 音 力，
Niệm bỉ Quán Âm lực，
Evoke the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva,
應 時 得 消 散。
Ứng thời đắc tiêu tán。
The skies will clear, the storms will drift away.
眾 生 被 困 厄，
Chúng sanh bị khổn ách，
Living beings harassed and vexed, and troubled,
無 量 苦 逼 身，
Vô lượng khổ bức thân，
By countless sorrows, burdened without cease,
觀 音 妙 智 力，
Quán Âm diệu trí lực，
This Bodhisattva’s wondrous wisdom-power,
能 救 世 間 苦。
Năng cứu thế gian khổ。
Can help the suffering world obtain relief.
具 足 神 通 力，
Cụ túc thần thông lực，
Perfect and complete in psychic power,
廣 修 智 方 便，
Quảng tu trí phương tiện，
Widely versed in wisdom’s subtle skills,
十 方 諸 國 土，
Thập phương chư quốc độ，
In lands throughout the ten directions,
無 剎 不 現 身。
Vô sát bất hiện thân。
The Bodhisattva manifests at will.
種 種 諸 惡 趣，
Chủng chủng chư ác thú，
The agony amid the Evil Pathways,
地 獄 鬼 畜 生，
Địa ngục quỷ súc sanh，
The torments of the ghosts, the beasts, the hells,
生 老 病 死 苦，
Sanh lão bệnh tử khổ，
The pains of birth, the aged, sick, and dying,
以 漸 悉 令 滅。
Dĩ tiệm tất linh diệt。
The Bodhisattva gradually dispels.
真 觀 清 淨 觀，
Chân quán thanh tịnh quán，
O Thou of true regard, of pure regard,
廣 大 智 慧 觀，
Quảng đại trí tuệ quán，
Regard far-reaching, wise, and truly great,
悲 觀 及 慈 觀，
Bi quán cập từ quán，
Thy loving-kindness, sympathy, and deep regard,
常 願 常 瞻 仰。
Thường nguyện thường chiêm ngưỡng。
I vow to ever laud and venerate.
無 垢 清 淨 光，
Vô cấu thanh tịnh quang，
Your wisdom-sun can break apart the darkness,
慧 日 破 諸 闇，
Tuệ nhật phá chư ám，
Immaculate, your virgin light unfurls,
能 伏 災 風 火，
Năng phục tai phong hỏa，
To quell disasters, winds, and storms, and fires,
普 明 照 世 間。
Phổ minh chiếu thế gian。
A universal light for all the world.
悲 體 戒 雷 震，
Bi thể giới lôi chấn，
Wellspring of compassion, precepts’ thunder,
慈 意 妙 大 雲，
Từ ý diệu đại vân，
Your wondrous cloud of kindness covers all.
澍 甘 露 法 雨，
Chú cam lồ Pháp vũ，
Extinguishing the fires of life’s afflictions,
滅 除 煩 惱 焰。
Diệt trừ phiền não diệm。
As the rain of sweet-dew Dharma falls.
諍 訟 經 官 處，
Tranh tụng kinh quan xứ，
In trials, suits, and civil confrontations,
怖 畏 軍 陣 中，
Bố úy quân trận trung，
When fear runs high, when warring armies near,
念 彼 觀 音 力，
Niệm bỉ Quán Âm lực，
Evoke the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva,
眾 怨 悉 退 散。
Chúng oán tất thoái tán。
Vengeance and bad feelings disappear.
